FAQS

Your Questions Answered

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 2D, 3D, and 4D-HD?

2D is a two dimensional image of your baby. This is a black and white cross-section, the same as when you attend your normal NHS scan.
3D is a three dimensional image of your baby, this means you can see depth. Our 3D scans typically take a look at your baby's cute button nose and tiny fingers.
The 4D image is the term given to the 3D image moving in real-time, so you may see baby waving, or having a drink. HD is high-definition.

HOW LONG IS MY APPOINTMENT TIME?

Although the appointment time is advertised as approximately 20 minutes (4D - 30 minutes), this is not always entirely just for your baby scan.

IS CAR PARKING AVAILABLE?

There is a pay-and-display car park based next to Haynes Furnishers, 72-73 High Street, DE14 1LD.

Google Maps estimates this to be a 2-3 minute walk.

DO I STILL NEED TO HAVE MY NHS APPOINTMENT?

YES, absolutely! Our highly-experienced sonographers want to make sure you see your baby, but will not carry out a full abnormality check as this is a non-diagnostic scan and is for reassurance and bonding purposes only.

As a result, the wellbeing check doesn't cover all the things that your midwife and NHS appointments need to see and know so its best to still keep up with all of your appointments

HOW ACCURATE ARE YOUR GENDER DETERMINATION SCANS?

Gender determination is not 100% accurate however our sonographers have a high accuracy of 99.9%.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CANNOT SEE MY BABY'S GENDER?

We will try to encourage the baby to move by getting the mother to roll or by going for a walk. Usually these techniques work it is very rare that we have to book someone for a re-scan but if this was to happen you can come back another day for a free re-scan.

DO I NEED A FULL BLADDER FOR MY SCAN?

You do not need a full bladder for a gender scan, 4D, late reassurance, or presentation scan.
